Water | 1 litre | |
Chickpeas | 1 cup | |
Lentil | 1/2 cup | |
Parsley (chopped ) | 1/2 cup | |
Coriander (chopped) | 3/4 cup | |
Noodles( shaarieh) | 1/4 cup | |
Spices mix : (blended) | ||
Ground black pepper | 1/2 tsp | |
Ground nutmeg | 1/2 tsp | |
Ground cinnamon | 1/2 tsp | |
Ground cloves | 1/2 tsp | |
Ground coriander | 1/2 tsp | |
Ground ginger | 1/2 tsp | |
Ground tumeric | 1/2 tsp | |
Ground cardamon | 1/2 tsp |
Very tasty soup and must try.
Directions
- Cook brown lentil in water for 10 minutes and drain water.
- In vegetable oil cook onion and celery until soft, add the meat and 1 tsp spices mix and stir well.
- Add tomato ,tomato paste ,warm water and lentil and the rest of spice mix.
- Reduce heat and let simmer for 30 minutes.
- Add the noodles (shaarieh) ,chickpeas ,chopped coriander ,chopped parsley and salt and adjust seasoning if needed ,let boil for another 10 minutes.
- Add more water if needed.
- Serve it hot and garnish with coriander.
