Ingredients

Onion (chopped) 1
Celery (chopped) 1 stalks
Lamb meat (chopped) 350 gr
Tomato (peeled and finely chopped) 2 large
Tomato paste 4 tbls
Water 1 litre
Chickpeas 1 cup
Lentil 1/2 cup
Parsley (chopped ) 1/2 cup
Coriander (chopped) 3/4 cup
Noodles( shaarieh) 1/4 cup
Spices mix : (blended)
Ground black pepper 1/2 tsp
Ground nutmeg 1/2 tsp
Ground cinnamon 1/2 tsp
Ground cloves 1/2 tsp
Ground coriander 1/2 tsp
Ground ginger 1/2 tsp
Ground tumeric 1/2 tsp
Ground cardamon 1/2 tsp

Very tasty soup and must try.

Directions

  1. Cook brown lentil in water for 10 minutes and drain water.
  2. In vegetable oil cook onion and celery until soft, add the meat and 1 tsp spices mix and stir well.
  3. Add tomato ,tomato paste ,warm water and lentil and the rest of spice mix.
  4. Reduce heat and let simmer for 30 minutes.
  5. Add the noodles (shaarieh) ,chickpeas ,chopped coriander ,chopped parsley and salt and adjust seasoning if needed ,let boil for another 10 minutes.
  6. Add more water if needed.
  7. Serve it hot and garnish with coriander.
